Gran Canaria - made it to the ‘start’!

At 1615 on Monday 16th October, Sue and I threw our lines to the guy on the reception pontoon at Marina Las Palmas in Gran Canaria. More than 1000 miles after leaving Lagos, Blue Pepper had arrived at the start point of the ARC in November.

We loved the Canary Islands that we visited and only regret not being able to explore further - there’s never enough time! First impressions of Las Palmas are of a bustling city, much bigger than the other towns we visited on Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. We had to leave for home the day after arriving, so further exploration will have to wait a few weeks until I get back out to start final preparations for the ARC. So that’s it for now - more news to follow from 9th November as we work through those final days before the big start!
